Rasmussen College’s School of Nursing invites you to join us at our first quarterly nursing colloquium on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 11:30 a.m. CST to 1:00 p.m. CST at our Eagan, MN Campus.

This is a collaborative educational event. We will be holding colloquiums on a quarterly basis to discuss current trends and challenges facing nursing professionals. The goal here is to create an ongoing dialogue and offer a learning environment for everyone involved.

At the Ocala Campus, there is an overall increase in enrollment this year, partially due to the layoffs of a large mortgage company in the area, Taylor Bean & Whitaker.

The Eden Prairie Campus had a number of events in August. The first was the “Rasolympics” which held specific events geared towards physically impaired students.

The Romeoville/Joliet Campus unveiled two $10,000 scholarships to the local community. The It’s My Time scholarship is designed to give two hopeful students help in achieving their goals for continuing education and for securing a rewarding, successful career.

Community involvement and lifelong learning are key areas of Rasmussen’s mission and important parts of baccalaureate culture. During summer quarter, Bismarck instructor Shadd Piehl and librarian Chandra Hirning partnered with the local public library to bring a noted North Dakota author into the Bismarck/Mandan community.

Northwestern University President Henry S. Bienen will retire from his position effective August 31, 2009 and will become Vice Chairman of the Rasmussen College, Inc. Board of Directors effective September 1, 2009.
